As of right now it is pouring in Regina and is supposed to off and on all day. If it rains like this at game time it will have a major effect on the passing game and the score so the under may be worth a look. I will try and update the weather situation before I head down to the game. The riders come into his year with lot changes .On d there are changes at starting tackle and 2 linebacker positions. The secondary Is pretty much in tact. The loss of Scholgan and Butler in particular are big and I see the defence taking a step back. On offence the losses of slot back Dressler and starting running Sheets cant be replaced but the starting o-line is all the same and they are a strong group. Starting QB Durant is one of if not the best QB in the league. The biggest concerns on offence are RB Allen and 2 new SBs Scillens and Swain. Schillens is one player I will be watching he has good size, decent speed, and Durant seems to have some chemistry with him. If he can produce he will be a welcome addition to Taj Smith and Chris Getzlaf in the receiving corp. The special teams should be decent . The return game will have 2 new returners in green and Smith so that will be an unknown. I think the riders in by 6 a homer pick I know but that is the way I see it.

Nice call. I had some friends that liked the over but weather scared me off of it. Is Sask's defense going to be great or is Hamilton's offensive line just that much of a mess?

All the Flooding sucks, sending prayers to everyone in SASK, I spent many years out there, great place to grow up, glad the Green Team won and it stayed under for both of us.

Jake t I think the rider d is really good but I also think the cats offence line is pretty weak . I also think it will take Colloras a few more weeks to understand the offence and what Austin expects of him. On tv you couldn't see but he had some chances to dump the ball off or just throw it away and he didn't .I think that will come in time. They also did not try to run the ball they only had 11 rushes I think. Thanks Sharky I have been given chances to leave SASK but just cant do it good to here u have some roots here

I can’t go golfing because the weather, so I thought I would recap the rider game and a few things I noticed in this week’s games. The rider defence and the offensive line where the keys to victory. The d was aggressive and where flying to the ball and the secondary was pretty good with their coverage. I am not sure why Hamilton did not run the ball considering the weather conditions and the fact that the riders had 3 new starters in the middle of the defence. I think that was a huge mistake on Austin’s part .This defences weakness will be stopping the run . Hamilton looked like they weren’t prepared for the weather and didn’t game plan properly, which is surprising coming from a Austin lead team. The offence didn’t try to run and the d didn’t change their game plan to stop the run. Hamilton also killed themselves with penalty’s extending rider drives and stalling their own. IN the end the better team probably won but I would suspect in the upcoming weeks teams will be running the ball a lot more against the rider d and that Austin won’t allow his team to be caught with their pants down.
A couple things I noticed in other games: Edmonton’s o-line has improved and are providing some decent protection allowing their QB to remain upright :BC o-line on the other hand looks pretty weak . I had heard there was concern and it seems to be true: Montreal’s Troy Smith looked awful and I wonder if it is just him or the fact that they gassed their OC a few days into camp .Either way it didn’t look good: I had a couple of kick my own ass moments this week. One was not getting my second half wager on the under in the rider game in on time and the 2[SUP]nd[/SUP] was not listening to a buddy of mine who bet Winny to win. He had a bunch of reasons why but one that caught my attention was he mentioned the o-line coach was Bob Wylie. He is a great coach and makes the o-line better almost instantly where ever he goes. He did it here and in Oakland a few years back. He has already made Winnys better
